Romania is an impressive country with great history, culture and natural beauty.

You may ski in traditional mountain resorts or resorts built for this purpose, or you may sunbathe on the beaches of the Black Sea. In Transylvania you may take part to popular festivals that represent an authentic performance of the local traditions. Moldavia is famous for the wonderful wall-paintings with Byzantine influences on the walls of the monasteries, and the mastery and creativity of carving wood is a characteristic of the handicrafts in Maramures.  

Romania is a state located in south-West of Europe. Its neighbours are Ukraine in North, in North-West Hungaria, in South-West with Serbia, in South with Bulgaria, in South-East has acces to the Black Sea and in East with the Republic of Moldavia.

The capital and the largest city of Romania is Bucharest.

Romania has been a member-state of NATO since 2004 and
since 1st of January 2007 a member-state of the European Union.
